This tutorial will teach you how to open files that use .7z as their file extension.

The .7z file extension is just one of many that are used for compressed files (such as .zip, .rar, etc). A free program called WinRAR can be used to open nearly any compressed file, so it's recommended that you download it for all of your decompression needs. Download WinRAR by clicking here.

When installing WinRAR, be sure that you choose these settings so that WinRAR will be associated with all the compressed file types that it supports:


After the installation has completed, you may need to restart your PC for the file extension to associate with WinRAR. After that, you will be able to open the .7z file by simply double clicking on it.
